Professional website design can go a long way and make all the difference in how effective your website is for your company. Your internet presence matters quite significantly. In order to have an effective website and a good internet presence, you need to make sure things are done right by someone who knows the rules and knows how to implement them.
There are a few different pieces of the puzzle to focus on other then the website itself. Two major pieces of the puzzle are SEO and Internet Marketing. I’ll go into detail about these two steps next week, but for those that want to know a little more now, here’s a link to some of this information on my website: www.wilsonwebandphoto.com/seo-
Free Websites vs. Professional Websites
This is a popular question and it’s also a great one! Why pay for a professional website when you can get a website for free or that cost little to nothing? Well, there you go, do you want a professional website or just a website? This is where you decide on how serious you want to take your business. A professional website will be built following the rules that Google and other search engines expect to see. A professional website will be 100% yours so no matter where you move your hosting to or what you do with it, all files are yours to do with as your please. This means you keep all your rankings Google gives you and all your credit in Googles eyes stay with you where ever you go. There is nothing you can’t have when it comes to your website. Your website will NOT be a sub domain to my domain. It will be all YOU. With the free or little to no cost websites, there is always a catch and one of the biggest ones is that you are basically just leasing your website. All the time you spend getting credit with Google and other search engines will all be lost the minute you cancel your service with what ever website company you are using. You can’t decide to take your website to a different host and you can’t do a lot of things because again, you are only leasing it. It’s not really yours. And the website you are leasing is mostly being used to gain traffic for the website company rather then your website. Your traffic will mostly come from word of mouth and stuff which means your leased website NOT effective.
So with all this being said, take time to really plan out your business goals and decide what exactly you are wanting a website to do for you and your business. If you’re looking for business growth, being found when people make searches, and stepping up in competition then having a professional website is what you will want.
